This is a 50km (31 mile) group ride which meanders through all three Ayrshire counties.
It starts at sea-level in Troon then climbs inland to Symington via Corraith before visiting hamlets such as Gatehead, Crosshouse and Perceton on the way to Eglinton Country Park for a picnic lunch.

The Visitor Centre in the park has a cafe which could be used as a wet weather alternative, although you would have to purchase food there.
They do not allow you to consume food in the cafe which was not purchased on the premises.
Return via National Cycle Route 73 to Irvine, then pick up National Cycle Route 7 for the return to Troon.
