Our longest distance road event of the weekend, the Challenge ride is a 102km circular route on open roads, the vast majority of which is on quiet ‘B’ grade roads.
Signing up on-line is recommended, but if the max. allocation of 50 participants is not filled, then signing up on the day will be possible.
The route is fully signed but we do also provide a route sheet.
Drinks and light refreshments are available at the finish (included in the price).
This is a 50km (31 mile) group ride which meanders through all three Ayrshire counties.
It starts at sea-level then climbs inland to Symington via Corraith before visiting hamlets such as Gatehead, Crosshouse and Perceton on the way to Eglinton Park for a picnic lunch.
After lunch,we return via National Cycle Route 73 to Irvine then pick up National Cycle Route 7 for the return to Troon.
Experienced Cycling UK member(s) will lead you around the route.
Ayr Burners Cycling for 4 to 8 year olds
The ‘Flames’ is for children between 4 and 8 years old who have graduated to pedal bikes, and are improving confidence and developing skills.
Come to Fullarton Woods for a group Park ride – total distance 4km.
Our journey takes us around the paths and trails of Fullarton Woods, and ends with some cycling games near the play park.
We are led by trained ride leaders.
Each child should be accompanied by a responsible adult.
